Embellished Beauty

Well dear readers, I’m posting with great irregularity at the moment. I still do not have a working laptop after a leak from my neighbours shower fried mine to a crisp. It’s agonising living without my MacBook and the temptation is to buy a new one before the insurance claim is settled, however, I’m a little worried that they’ll try to palm me off with a lesser laptop rather then the cash. So, apologies for now, blogging is sporadic at best.

Anyway, thought you might like to see this latest beauty shoot with the divine Flaviana from Next Models. It was a dream working with this delightful girl, and with amazing photographer Jonathan Knowles. Flaviana’s skin is like velvet and the planes of her face are like the sands of the Sahara so I was inspired to create a beauty shoot using subtle embellishments of the face, using gold leaf, gold transfers, lip transfers, face lace and tons and tons of pigment.

The opening shot of Flaviana above uses the Goldsin Jewel transfers…

building up to the addition of real gold leaf applied to the eye, and a two-tone lip using purple and gold tones..

Next we have a leopard print lip transfer from Violent Lips..

And FaceLace stickers which come in all kinds of designs, created by the amazing make up artist and body painter Phyllis Cohen, teamed with a limited edition black lip gloss from YSL.

And lastly, a dusting of 8 different shades of pigments on a base of metallic red Fardel face paint.
