The New Spa Verta

by Aly Hazlewood on October 12, 2010

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the newly opened Spa Verta at the 5 star Hotel Verta in Battersea, next to London’s Heliport Pad. The Spa Verta houses one of the country’s few Hydrotherapy pools, along with a sauna, steam room, sanarium, tropical rain showers, heated loungers, and high tech gym.

I had the Spa Verta signature treatment with the lovely Wendy, an hour-long full body massage by Anna Semonin, one of the worlds leading luxury spa brands, followed by a delicious and refreshing Bellini Sorbet served to you in the relaxation lounge. It was absolutely wonderful, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

The great thing about the Spa Verta is the abundance of luxurious details, from the bowl of orchids placed on the floor underneath the massage bed, giving you something beautiful to look at through the face hole, to the gorgeous fluffy towels and gowns in each locker, to the peppermint oil that is heated through the air in the sanarium, to the soothing multi-coloured mood lighting in the sauna and steam room, and the Anne Seminon toiletries in the ladies changing rooms.

The decor is beautiful too, lots of lavish textures, candles, gorgeous tiles and relaxing colours. This is certainly a 5 star experience for all the senses. You can book a treatment, or day programme of treatments through Bookaspa.com who have over 140 luxury spas on their database, enabling them to tailor your requirements exactly to the best spa for you. You can even buy spa vouchers for your loved ones, and with Christmas fast approaching, this is a brilliant way of avoiding the nightmare that is Christmas shopping.

I stayed at the Verta this weekend and we went down and used the spa facilities in the morning before we left and had it all to ourselves. It is compact but very luxurious and relaxing. Would recommend a stay here if you can get it on special offer (as we did!).

I have just spent a weekend Sat /Sun at the Hotel Verta. The room was nice, the Spa very beautiful and relaxing. I had a Pedicure / Manicue and a one hour massage.
The massage was wonderful but I was left very oily and was not offered the facility of a shower although there was one in the treatment room but I was told i would have to go back to my room by which time we had had to check out. Ruined clothes!
The manicure / pedicure was shocking. It wasn’t done properly, my cuticles not soaked or pushed back nor tidied up.The lacquer applied was lumpy and didn’t go down to the cuticle leaving my nails looking dirty and within two hours had started peeling off. Considering the cost was £100.00 for just this I can say it was the worst I have ever had. By the time I got home in the afternoon, my nails looked in desperate need of care. The nail varnish had curled and peeled off and I had to redo them myself.
The weekend was a gift from my daughter otherwise if I had paid I most certainly would have complained and asked for a refund. Not worth the money my daughter paid to be honest.

Hi Mo

I definitely would have complained about this. In fact I still would if I were you. I’m sure the spa manager would do their best to right the situation, they do not want unhappy customers leaving negative reviews like this, it’s terrible pr for them. If you do change your mind and complain, let me know how you get on.
